About the University
Bridgetown International University, School of Medicine (BIU) is a well-recognized and one of the fastest-growing private medical universities situated in Bridgetown capital city of Barbados and established in 2016, which is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the capital city of Barbados, a Caribbean English-speaking island country in North America.
The University offers a 5-Year MD Program based on the US-medical curriculum to medical aspirants worldwide, at affordable fees. Fees structure of the BIU MD Program is one of the lowest in the entire North America region while the quality of education conforms to the world-class standards. BIU MD Program strictly adheres to the requirements of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), a mandatory licensing examination required to get qualified to get a license for medical practice in the US.
Along with the curriculum of BIU, MCI coaching will also be provided by ISM Focal Point to bridge the gap between the Indian and US curriculum to make sure the students who want to practice in India clear MCI in their very first attempt.

MD Program offering is a 5-Year MD Program which includes 1-Year Pre-Medical Program. The entire medical course is taught in the English language and is well-recognized in countries worldwide.
Infrastructure
BIU Campus located in Bridgetown is equipped with the necessary modern facilities required to deliver the finest possible medical education in Barbados. The Campus is equipped with a library, medical laboratories, and classrooms with modern aids of teaching. Each student will have access to various databases and e-learning software specially designed for medical students with 3D animations.
Student Life
At the University, students study and live in an environment of holistic development where they can participate in various sports and extracurricular activities and programs driven by community welfare. Holistic personality helps BIU professionals to achieve excellence, not only in all settings of medicine but in all settings of life as well. While students study medicine in Barbados, they are involved with medical outreach programs, research projects, seminars, medical exhibitions, group discussions, and offered opportunities for International Clinical Rotations.
Hospital
We have developed affiliations with teaching hospitals in different countries. Our collaborations facilitate international clinical training for our students. Clinical training in various countries provides global exposure. It also prepares our students for international medical practice.
Hostels and Mess
Students at hostels will have same home atmosphere which makes them feel comfortable and adapt to local life. Separate hostels for boys and girls with Indian caretaker’s helps students for easy communication and better stay as there are no language issues. A Quality Indian food prepared by Indian cooks is another advantage for students. To make taste good Rice, pulses and spices are imported from India on quarterly basis. To provide safe and secure accommodation all hostels are equipped with high definition cameras and monitored by well trained security staff 24/7.
